For now, here’s some recent reviews.
Good things come in threes, and this trio of novellas are worthy of your time and money.

Check ’em out.

ShilohShiloh by Philip Fracassi

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

SHILOH is a cool little novella. This is my first time reading Fracassi and it won’t be my last.

“You don’t wash with another man’s blood and expect to get clean.”

The story takes place during the Civil War. Twin brothers fighting for the south find themselves among piles of body parts and fallen men. That part offered a great look into what was a horrible time for our nation. When one of the brothers starts seeing things attached to combatants, he wonders if its the stress of war or if he’s simply losing his mind.

“…but I also see, as opaque as flesh, the demons running rampant throughout. They leap from man to man, pulling at their substance, their bodies covered in gore and shadow…”

I won’t tell the rest since it is a quick read, but I really enjoyed Fracassi’s writing. This story is very different from most of the horror I read and goes into some very strange but cool directions.

Some of it lagged for me about due to the fact that you can only describe the same scene so many times (most of it takes place on the battlefield), but there was plenty here to love.

I though the ending was perfect.

I give SHILOH 4 stars!

Definitely recommend this one for those horror peeps looking for something a bit different.

The Switch HouseThe Switch House by Tim Meyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a quick little number from Tim Meyer. and certainly worthy of your time.

Meyer delvers an odd, tragic, and mind-bending tale. From the loss of a child, to a realty TV show, to a place called, “The Everywhere”, THE SWITCH HOUSE had me upside down. I couldn’t tell what was going to happen next, and that’s a great thing.

I definitely recommend this one to those of you looking for something different in your horror reads.

I give THE SWITCH HOUSE 4 stars!

HuskHusk by Rachel Autumn Deering

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Different, yet familiar. Give it a try

A US vet comes home to the house his grandparents raised him in,but something dark awaits. Is this creature he’s seeing real? Or has the war ruined his mind?
The romance in here feels like a supernatural Hallmark movie, but it works.
I loved the ending.
Definitely worth your time.

I give HUSK 4 stars!

Deering is an author to keep an eye on.
