So this past spring I signed my first contract with Samhain Publishing. I’ve said it before, but this is the one goal I had for my writing: Have a piece picked up by Don D’Auria and Samhain. I’m so happy that it was this story that Don decided to take.
I still don’t have the official release date yet, but I thought it was time I share the cover with everyone.
So here it is–the cover for my first Samhain novella, Abram’s Bridge:
This is a ghost story/mystery novella.
Last year, Peter Dudar suggested that our writing group craft some ghost stories for Halloween. This was mine. The title comes from a line in Bruce Springsteen’s song, Darkness on the Edge of Town.
“Well if she wants to see me you can tell her that I’m easily found/tell her there’s a spot out ‘neath Abram’s Bridge/ and tell her there’s a darkness on the edge of town…” and there’s a line in another verse that says, “…everybody’s got a secret….”
This all clicked in my brain and I went to work to tell the story of a boy named Lil’ Ron and the ghost of girl named Sweet Kate.
I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.
